Spring Adopt a Highway Cleanup: Date To Be Determined (STAY TUNED!)

We expect the 2025 parade route to be the same as last year —starting at Rice Park (5th St & Market St) and ending near Mears Park (5th St & Sibley St), traveling along 5th Street.

Where is the best place to park?

We recommend parking in lots & ramps along Kellogg and north of 6th St E. The staging area usually closes each year at 10 am. Then, 5th St E and intersecting roads between 6th St E & 4th St E close at 11 am.

We have participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for many years - we do it in honor of Justice for Jonathan O'Shaughnessy.

This event is weather dependent.

If you'd like to attend with us - please let us know if you'll be participating because if weather is horrible and we just can’t attend we'd love to let you know that we have to cancel ..we'd love to have you though! Thank you!

Sunday Feb. 9, 2025 - Jonathan's 32nd Birthday - Today has been Declared Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Day by The State of Minnesota and the City of Richfield.

We still planning a celebration: cake & gathering - place to be determined. Keep an eye out for UPDATES closer to Jonathan’s Birthday. 

UPDATE: We are sooo close in donations for the tile that remains on the wall - tiles are $600.00 - tiles purchased will be on the wall for the 2025 Minnesota State Fair..  we are very excited to do this to remember Jonathan.  To donate please go to the GoFundMe Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Memorial Page.  Monies currently in the GoFundMe account are for the "reward, helping requests for Christmas, birthdays, school supplies, Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Community Pantry, gift cards, and will be for the MN State Fair Tile."

Saturday Dec. 14th - 11AM is Wreaths Across America Volunteering at Fort Snelling National Cemetery , there is a wonderful program beforehand at 11am—arrive early to find parking!

Sunday Dec. 8th , 2024 - 7pm EVERYWHERE - The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting  

Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, our annual Worldwide Candle Lighting unites bereaved families in remembrance of the children, grandchildren, and siblings who have died and will never be forgotten.

On December 8th at 7 pm local time, families gather to light candles and participate in a special memorial ceremony honoring their beloved child, grandchild, or sibling.

Justice for Jonathan O'Shaughnessy Memorial Bench Re-Install

64th and 4th, Richfield, MN

Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 - 7th Year Adopt a Highway Fall Cleanup - 9:00am -

Justice for Jonathan O'Shaughnessy has the Highway located on Cedar Avenue in Richfield - Hwy 494 to Crosstown 62. We walk along both sides of Highway picking up the garbage that is on the sides of the highway. We provide safety vests and bags - you wear sturdy shoes, pants and long sleeves (sorry yes, even if hot).

This can take 2 hours up to 3 hours depending on the number of people who volunteer. We need at least 10..thankyou!

Meet-Parking is off Cedar Ave. and Diagonal Blvd. - there is a parking lot here... Start time is 9AM.. Great exercise and find interesting items 🙂 thankyou!
